How To Recognizing The Different Forms Of Hernias
Author: nlwest21
Hernias are something that not many people think they will ever have or even know that they can have. This is because most of the time they will not make any measure of pain. When it is small you may only feel a slight irritation that will go away rapidly. There are three essential kinds of hernias and the levels at which they advance. It is essential that individuals know what type of hernias they have. This will let them know the proper way to handle it and what might be causing it.
Reducible Hernia
When it is in the early level it is normally considered to be a reducible hernia. This implies that individuals may simply push the mass back in where it came from. This is not a way to address it and coughing, bending over, or any form of straining will force it back out once more. Yet, it does help to relieve a bit of the discomfort.
Irreducible Hernia
There are certain masses that do not have the ability to be pressed back inside no matter how you might try. These are irreducible and could be because they are too large or something is barring its way. This will make someone rather awkward and for some can induce a certain measure of pain. People with this type will commonly endeavor to mend the problem with surgery.
Strangulated Hernia
This is the hardest type of hernia that anyone can have. The reason physicians like to fix the hernia when they have diagnosed it is because it has the ability to turn into this. When this takes place the hernia is tangled with an intestine in the body and is cutting off its blood supply. This may cause an infection, gangrene, and will kill the intestine. It might also cause the individual great pain. This is something that needs to be addressed immediately because it only takes a few hours for the intestine to die.

I dont want to wait til it strangulates because i almost certainly will be dead if i do. So i am looking to find out the symptoms that would indicate it is strangulating. Please help if anyone can. Thank You
VERY PAINFUL IN THE AREA OF THE HERNIA. I ASSUME YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A UMBILICAL OR INGUINAL HERNIA. JUST VERY PAINFUL. GET THAT CHECKED OUT BY A DOCTOR.
What are the symptoms of an inguinal hernia strangulation. My doc says extreme pain which forces u to go to?
an emergency room. Doc says u will know when ur hernia is strangulated coz u will get excruciating pain in the groin area
Thanks
That’s true, and you may notice a dark patch under the skin (over the hernia site), this is very bad news and a medical emergency. Pain is the surest sign of strangulation.
Are there early symptoms for a strangulated hernia? How do I know if it gets strangulated or worse?
There are various types of hernias located in the upper areas of the stomach and in the lower portion of the stomach. A hernia is a weakening of the stomach or intestinal lining where a portion of the interior of the stomach or intestine oozes out the tear. The term strangulated means the portion sticking out of the tear is squeezed by the muscular actions of the stomach or intestines and whatever digested mass was in that section is shut off and eventually decays in the hernia. Pain is gradual from a slight throb to increased burning pain, especially when trying to lift objects. If you think you have a hernia, get it checked and repaired ASAP. Better to have minor surgery than a major complicated surgery.
Does anyone know the symptoms of a strangulating hernia?
This is 6th hernia getting really huge and moving from left side to navel. Inside is a recalled patch of mesh.Scared to death to be operated on again and nobody will want to remove it,including Cleveland clinis drs. I am close to Shands now. Having much gastric distress.
Strangulated hernias have blood supply cut off to affected segments of bowel or tissue – which can die quickly. Strangulated hernias may be differentiated from regular hernias by : being IRREDUCIBLE (can’t be pushed back in), PAINFUL, TENDER to touch. Sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever. Person generally feels rather ill.
Person with hernia who has sudden increase in pain or any of above symptoms must see doctor immediately. Strangulated hernia is a surgical emergency which must be operated on quickly to save the organs.
Only Surgeon is able to assess whether operation is appropriate.
Don’t mess around asking advice on Internet from non-doctors.
Even real doctors need to physically examine you.
Hernia Hurts Really badly!!!!!!!!?
Okay so I’ve had this hernia for about a year and lately I’ve been in excruciating pain..one night in particular after doing ab exercises. I know the reason is pretty self explanatory, but I was wondering if I strangulated my hernia? I have the symptom of extreme pain but How do I know it’s really strangulated? How long can it stay strangulated until the worse happens? And what would that “worse” be? Fainting? Death? Please help. I’m a female, 5’5 14 97lbs and lightly active as of now. But later on in the year I’ll be running track.
